Men Aren't the only Bikers in the Family. Hail Women Motorcycle Riders!

Did you know female motorcycle riders are an increasing population in the US? It's true. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council out of of the 2.5 million people who rode motorcycles in the US in 2008, 23% of them were women. So why this increased change?

Well, we read recently on Her Motorcycle, a comprehensive website for women bikers, that bikes give women a real sense of freedom and exhilaration. Not to mention women who ride have a stronger feeling of confidence and camaraderie.

Here’s some more insight on women bikers we learned:

  • 56.7% of women motorcyclists are married
  • 28% of women motorcyclists have a college or post graduate degree
  • 35% of women motorcyclists hold a technical/professional job
  • 42 is the median age of women motorcyclists, up from 38
The next time you pass a group of riders on the road, take a close look at who's leading the pack. We be it's a woman.

Take Care of Your Leather Handbag - 5 Must-Follow Tips

Leather handbags, whether classic or contemporary, are a great addition to any women's wardrobe. Leather is not only durable, but is very versatile and comes in a wide variety of color.
Now that you made that decision to invest a leather handbag, here are 5 must-do tips to keep your leather hand bag looking great.
  1. Waterproof your bag immediately. There's nothing worse than a nice leather handbag that has been shrunk or stained by water. Be sure to choose a waterproof spray specifically for your type of leather. Deer skin does not need to be waterproofed.
  2. Clean your leather handbag often. Simply wipe your leather bag with a dust free clothe to remove everyday dust particles. For further protection, moisturize your leather with mink oil. The leather will stay softer and cleaner longer.
  3. Keep the shape of your bag with tissue. Stuff tissue paper into the corners of your bag to keep the intended shape. Never use newspaper as the ink may stain the inside of your bag.
  4. Keep your leather bag free of dust. Try storing it in a cloth lined basket, or box with a lid. Never store your leather in a plastic bag, this may cause mildew to grow on your hand bag.
  5. Keep your leather bag away from alcohol. Hairspray, nail polish remover, or any other chemicals that contain alcohol can damage your leather bag beyond repair.
So there you have it. Five must-follow tips for caring for your leather handbag.
